Our Plum Velvet 18th Century Stays are crafted from 100% cotton velvet in rich plum burgundy.

The structured bodice features traditional 18th century corset boning with adjustable lacing up the center front in matching plum ribbon. The neckline and waistline are trimmed with gathered ruffles in matching plum velvet for a touch of rococo whimsy.

Adjustable shoulder straps are adorned with with plum satin ribbon bows, and the low scooping neckline is perfect to layer over chemises with a bit of ruffle or lace poking out.

Pair with a white cotton chemise and full skirts for the classic 18th century silhouette.

We take pride in the craftsmanship and thoughtful design of each corset in our shop. This particular corset boasts a number of notable features, including:

  • A durable and sturdy tight weave cotton canvas lining
  • Hand-set bronze grommets
  • Synthetic whalebone plastic boning. This type of boning is specially selected for its flexibility and strength, allowing it to gradually conform to your body shape as your body heat softens the plastic. For those interested in steel boning, this option is available for an additional fee.
  • Strong satin lacing ribbon

Care Instructions

To keep your corset in its best condition, we recommend wearing a protective layer between your corset and your skin. Keep body oils and sweat off of your corset by wearing one of our chemises under your corset. This, combined with leaving your corset to air out after each wear should be all the care you need to keep your corset clean. In the event that you must do a deeper cleaning, we recommend dry cleaning only.
