Whether ye be a pirate, jester, or bar maid you're sure to love this jaunty little Tavern Bodice! Historically inspired by men's doublets and women's bodices, this top combines structure with frivolity, from its durably rustic ramie fabric to its flouncy waist tabs and decorative velvet trim. 

A lace up front and adjustable back provide a tailored fit and exaggerated sleeve caps make this bodice the main character. Synthetic whalebone boning adds structure. This is more of a structured top than a corset, so it's not meant for heavy tightlacing like our other corsets, but you're sure to love this unique piece for your renaissance faire wardrobe nonetheless.

If you are in between sizes, we recommend sizing down if you would like more of a gap in the front lacing, or sizing up if you would prefer there to be no gap. The back is adjustable and can be made tighter to create a larger gap or make the bodice fit you better.

Sizing / fit is very odd

I feel like there is way too much overlap in sizing (due to the adjustability) and the size I ended up with looks poorly fitted, with gaping at the neck. Definitely size way down. I’m honestly so disappointed it’s otherwise beautiful but the pattern / fit is odd.

Exactly what I needed!

I purchased the Tavern Bodice in stained blackberry, size 3xl, and it's so beautiful in person! The velvet trim is a really lovely detail that takes this piece to the next level. I usually would have sized up to the 4xl but I loved the look of this piece not fully laced to close, and with its two places to lace and adjust I just knew I could get away with the 3xl. Boy, am I glad I did! It's boned properly and the sturdy cotton fabric gives the piece great shape and it feels super durable. Clearly, I'm in love!
